At Oxygen our Members prioritize Strength Training as the foundation of their Programs.
It's probably more commonly known that Strength Training is vital to those looking for muscle gain or improved athletic performance.
But Strength Training is one of the absolute best ways to promote body fat loss when programmed correctly and coupled with an intelligent nutrition program.
Most Fat Loss programs tend to revolve around cardio workouts that get the heart pumping, build up a sweat, and burn a lot of calories right here and now.
But adding Strength Training to your workout routine will make it much more effective for long-term weight management.
With cardio based Fat Loss programs, you’ll generally lose both fat and muscle. If Strength Training isn’t part of your routine, you'll be slowing down your metabolism by losing lean muscle mass, especially if you are also restricting your calories.
But a Strength Training Program needs structure, it needs to be done safely & correctly and it needs a plan. Lots of Gyms, Boot Camps and Group Fitness Classes will flood your newsfeed at this time of year with promises of strength training sessions but really they're just glorified HIIT sessions using weights. To really get the most from your Strength Training you need to lift heavy, you need to know correct exercise technique and you need to know the tricks of the trade to get better.
That's what we do and we're great at it. If you're willing to learn, you're not in it for a quick fix and you're ready to finally stop hopping around from one solution to the next without ever really getting anywhere the buck stops here.
